Natures Lessons From

Four Little Creatures

Proverbs 30:24-28

24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:

25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;

26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;

27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;

28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.

Introduction:

God can give us instruction from His    “Works” as well as from His “Word”.

       The same God that created the universe, is the same God that created the four little creatures in these verses.

Let us learn the lesson God is giving to us in these little creatures.

I.        THE ANT     -    In Verse 25

“The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;”

We Learn About Their

Thoughtful Preparation.

they prepare their meat in the summer;”

We are to prepare for eternity.

The Key Word For The Ant Is “Urgency”.

1. The Ways Of The Ant  -

Proverbs 6:6

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

(1) Seen In Their Commitment  -

One Thing I Do!

They stick to the job until it is finished.

(2) Seen In Their Cooperation  -

They work together   -

We need to learn this valuable lesson.

           2. The Wisdom Of The Ant  -  Proverbs 6:7-8

(1) Seen In Their Instinct  -

They have no visible leader, yet they work together. They have a God given Instinct to guide them.   Vs. 7 “Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,”

(2) Seen In Their Ingathering  -

8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

They prepare for the future.

So Must We!        Look at Vs 25 again.

II.     THE CONIES     -     Vs. 26

The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;

We Learn About Their

Tremendous Perception.

“yet make they their houses in the rocks;”

 They prepare for trouble. So must we!

The Key Word for the Conies Is  “Understanding”.

We like them; must understand when to flee to the rock.

1. The Feebleness Of The Conies.

        1 Corinthians 10:12   Wherefore let him that

        thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

        We like the Conie are to realize our Weakness.

2. The Fortress of The Conies. They hide in the rock.

They are helpless creatures. They truly are feeble, with no protection for battle. So are we as believers. Like the conies, our protection is in the rock.

Psalms 61:2-3

2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Thank God for that rock that we can hide in, when the enemy comes.

I.        THE ANT      -    In Verse 25

II.      THE CONIES     -     Vs. 26

III.   THE LOCUSTS     -     Vs. 27

The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;

We Learn About Their

Threatening Problem

“have no king”

The Key Word for the Locust Is “Unity”.

They must work and stay together. So must we learn to work and stay together.

1. The Discipline Of The Locusts.

“have no king”

They move by instinct. God built this in them, to lead them the way. We too have a God given leadership if only we would yield to it. The Holy Spirit would lead us.

2. The Danger Of The Locusts.

          “yet go they forth all of them by bands;

They must stay close together or perish.

          You can squash one but not a band.

          Think of the danger of division.

Matthew 12:25  And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

 So it is with His Church. We Must stay United.

IV.   THE SPIDER     -     Vs. 28

The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.

We Learn About Their

Tireless Persistence.

“taketh hold with her hands”

They stick with the stuff regardless of where they are.

We need to take hold, and continue to do the works of God.

The key word for the Spider is “Undertaking”

“taketh hold with her hands”

1. They Do Not Show Respect.

Cottage or Castle it does not matter with them.

They do their work regardless of where they are.

So Must We!!

2. They Do Not Spurn Responsibility.

No one loves them, but they work on. Don’t give up because you do not feel loved. Like the Spider just keep on working. You tear down their web and they will build it again and again.

We Need Some Spider Christians that want quit.
