The Man With A Withered Hand

Mark 3: 1-5

1. And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

2. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

3. And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.

4. And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

5. And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

This Is One Of Seven Miracles Jesus Preformed

On The Sabbath Day

I. THE MAN’S DESCRIPTION

1. His Picture -

He pictures a Christian whose life is wrong. He had life but could not do the work of God.

2. His Problem - He was a cripple.

Maybe your problem is different. Perhaps It Is Your -

(1) "Eyes" You cannot see properly.      You Have never really Seen - -

Your Self - As you really are!

Your Sinfulness - You only see she sin of others.

Your Savior - And His Compassion for You.

(2) "Ears" You Cannot hear properly.

You hear the wrong voices - Not God’s Voice.

(3) "Lips" You Cannot Speak Right.

You never talk to others about Christ.

(4) "Feet" You Cannot walk or stand right.

(5) "Knees" Your prayer life is overlooked.

Or Maybe It’s Your Hands, Like This Man, You Cannot do the things of God.

II. THE MAN’S DELIVERANCE

1. He Understood His Condition -

He had life, but was a cripple. Looking At God’s Servants Will reveal your cripple condition to you. Do You Understand Your Condition?

2. He Utilized The Circumstances -

He acted on the command from our Lord.   He believed the Words of Jesus. He simply trusted and obeyed and God delivered him.

Jesus is sending you this message today.

Will You trust Him now?

III. THE MAN’S DUTY

1. He Could Now Do Good For Others -

Jerome tells us in his writings that this man was a Stone Mason who had not been able to work for years. We are to work with Living Stones to build up God’s Purpose and people in this world.

2. He Could Now Give Glory To God -

In verse eight we learn that this man caused a great multitude to follow Jesus.
